The coin is minted from Ag.9999 silver, weighs 10 kilograms and has a diameter of 221 mm. The renowned precious metals manufacturer The Perth Mint is responsible for the issuance of the coins. The coin is guaranteed by the Australian government as to the legality and origin of the metal, and is legal tender in the country of issue. The coin features a security feature in the form of a micro-engraved letter on the reverse side. The obverse of the Year of the Dragon coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA”. Additionally, the obverse side includes information about the coin's face value, weight, and fineness. The reverse side depicts a Chinese dragon.
