In Chinese mythology, the dragon is a majestic beast that inhabits rivers, lakes, oceans, and roams the sky. Koi, synonymous with harmony and happiness, are often depicted as two halves of the yin yang symbol in feng shui, representing the opposing but balancing forces that govern the universe. The coin is minted from pure Ag.9999 silver and has a total weight of one troy ounce. The coin is a continuation of the Chinese Myths and Legends series, which also includes the Phoenix, Dragon, Double Pixiu, Dragon&Dragon, Dragon&Tiger, and Dragon&Phoenix coins. The silver coin has a serrated edge and a diameter of 40.9 mm. In addition, this coin is a premium product with a limited mintage of 40,000 pieces. The coin is legal tender in the country of issue and is guaranteed by the Australian government. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The entire coin is surrounded by the inscription “ELIZABETH II 1952-2022 AUSTRALIA” and information about the date of issue, weight, fineness, and face value of the coin. The obverse was designed by Jody Clark. The reverse depicts a dragon and a koi fish.
