The Police 2 oz Silver 2023 Proof is a unique coin celebrating the English rock band “The Police,” formed in London in 1977. Appearing on the British music scene, they played a rock style inspired by punk, reggae, and jazz. Their 1978 debut album, Outlandos d'Amour, reached No. 6 on the UK album chart thanks to the singles “Roxanne” and “Can't Stand Losing You.” The coin is made of Ag.999 silver, weighs 2 troy ounces, has a diameter of 40 mm, and is proof standard. The mintage is 700 pieces. In addition, this unusual coin was produced by The Royal Mint. The product is presented in its original packaging. The coin is guaranteed by the UK government as to its legality, purity and origin of the metal, and is legal tender in the country of issue. The obverse features the image of King Charles III of Great Britain wearing a crown, the inscription “CHARLES III∙D∙G∙REX∙F∙D” and the denomination and year, designed by Martin Jennings.
