Koala 1 once d'or 2023 Proof High Relief
The 2023 Gold Koala coin is the latest addition to the Australian Koala series. Coins in this series have been produced since 2007. Importantly, the design of the coins changes every year, making them particularly popular with collectors. The coin depicting a koala is minted from pure Au.9999 gold, weighs one troy ounce, has a diameter of 27.6 mm, and is in proof and high relief standard. The 2023 Koala has an additional collector's value, which is its limited mintage of only 200 pieces. The Australian Koala is produced by Australia's oldest mint, The Perth Mint. In addition to its enormous collector's potential, the Koala is guaranteed by the Australian government and is legal tender in the country of issue. Each coin comes in its original, certified packaging. The obverse of the gold coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, and information about the coin's face value. The reverse shows an image of an adult koala with a joey. The reverse side features the weight, purity, and year of production, as well as the inscription “KOALA” and the letter “P,” which indicates that the coin was produced by the Perth Mint.
