The 2023 Platinum Koala coin is part of the Australian Koala series. Importantly, the design of the coins changes every year, making them particularly recommended for collectors. The coin depicting a koala is minted from pure Pt.9995 bullion, weighs 1/10 troy ounce and has a diameter of 16.60 mm. The 2023 Koala has an additional advantage, which is its limited mintage of only 15,000 pieces. The Australian Koala is produced by Australia's oldest mint, The Perth Mint. In addition to its enormous collector's potential, the Koala is guaranteed by the Australian government and is legal tender in the country of issue. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, and information about the coin's face value. The reverse shows an adult koala with a young one. The reverse also features the weight, purity, and year of production, as well as the inscription “KOALA” and the letter “P,” which indicates that the coin was produced by The Perth Mint.
