The Australian Kangaroo is a collector's item produced by the oldest mint, the Perth Mint. The silver coin is minted from pure silver, Ag.9999, weighs 1 troy ounce, has a diameter of 32.6 mm, is in proof and high relief standard, and dates from 2023. What's more, it has additional security in the form of an engraved letter “P” on the reverse side. The kangaroo, along with the emu, appears on Australia's national coat of arms and is a national symbol. It can survive for weeks without water, spends its childhood in a pouch, moves by jumping, and is one of the largest mammals on Earth. The name kangaroo was given by English settlers and comes from the Aboriginal word “gungurru.” The obverse features an image of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown, the face value, and the country of issue, designed by Jody Clark. The reverse depicts a colored adult kangaroo looking over its shoulder. In the background, you can see a eucalyptus tree and grass trees.
