Harry Potter: Hogwarts Express 50p Copper-Nickel 2022 is a unique coin commemorating the first edition of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,” which had its world premiere on June 26, 1997, in the United Kingdom. In 2022, the book celebrates its 25th anniversary and is the first part of a seven-volume series of novels featuring Harry Potter as the main character, who faces the evil he encounters in the wizarding world. This is the second coin in the “Harry Potter 25th Anniversary” series. The coin is minted from an alloy of copper and nickel, weighs 8 grams, and has a diameter of 27.30 mm. The mintage of the coin is unlimited. In addition, this unusual coin was produced by The Royal Mint. The coin is guaranteed by the British government as to its legality, purity, and origin of the metal, and is legal tender in the country of issue. The obverse features the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination and year, designed by Jody Clark. The reverse of the coin features a train and the inscriptions “HOGWARTS EXPRESS” and “25 YEARS OF MAGIC.” Ffion Gwillim is responsible for the design of the reverse.Designer
