Ukraine 10 Hryvnias Banknote (10 UAH) Circulated Condition
The Ukraine 10 Hryvnias (10 UAH) circulating banknote is a basic unit of the Ukrainian currency, issued by the National Bank of Ukraine. Combining aesthetic qualities with functionality, the banknote is a popular means of payment and an interesting collectible. The 122 × 62 mm banknote pays tribute to Ukraine’s history and national heritage.
On the obverse of the banknote is a portrait of Ivan Mazepa (1639–1709), Hetman of Ukraine, known for his contribution to strengthening Ukrainian statehood and his involvement in the development of the country’s culture and economy.
On the reverse is an image of Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv—one of the most important monuments of Ukraine’s sacred architecture—symbolizing Ukraine’s historical significance in shaping national and spiritual identity.
The 10-hryvnia banknote features the following anti-counterfeiting security elements:
- Watermark with the portrait of Ivan Mazepa and the “₴10” denomination, visible when held to the light.
- Security thread with the microtext “₴10,” visible in light.
- Tilt effect — the “10” denomination changes color depending on the viewing angle.
- Optically variable ink — some elements of the banknote change color from purple to green.
- Tactile elements, including the portrait of Mazepa, the denomination, and markings for the visually impaired.
Differences between series:
- Series 3 features an improved tilt effect and more pronounced microtexts, enhancing protection against counterfeiting.
- Series 2 is distinguished by classic security features and a traditional color scheme, while Series 4 offers additional optically variable ink and graphic enhancements, raising the level of protection.

The item can be exchanged at a currency exchange office and is not eligible for return of the purchased means of payment.
