The unique Vergulde Draeck 1 oz Silver 2020 coin is the second edition of the remarkable Australian Treasure Shipwrecks series. The entire series consists of four coins that contain images of sunken ships: Batavia, Zuytdorp, Vergulde Draeck and Zeewijk.
The 2020 Vergulde Draeck silver coin is a product with a weight of one troy ounce and a bullion grade of 999. In addition to its distinctive shape and rich image, the coin has a limited mintage of 20,000 pieces.
The issuer of the entire collection is Royal Australian Mint. It is worth noting that all coins in the series are full-fledged legal tender, and have the guarantee of the Australian government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal. What's more, all coins in the collection are shipped in their original, dedicated caps.
Obverse depicts a scene from the dramatic story of Vergulde Draeck. In its background you can see the title ship sinking in the sea waves. On the other hand, the upper top of the obverse features the figure of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as information about the issuing country and the year the coin was struck.
Reverse shows the Vergulde Draeck ship in all its glory. However, when the coin is flipped 180 degrees, it shows the weight and minting attempt, as well as the text "1656" and "Vergulde Draeck".
