The coin presents the rich heraldry of the Tudor dynasty, referencing emblems seen across the United Kingdom as well as the sculptures that adorn the entrance to Hampton Court Palace. Henry VIII used heraldry as a powerful visual tool to emphasize his royal heritage and unquestionable claim to the throne.

The entire series will consist of 10 coins depicting heraldic beasts – The Lion of England, The Bull of Clarence, The Tudor Dragon, The Greyhound of Richmond, The Royal Dragon, The Yale of Beaufort, The Seymour Unicorn, The Queen’s Panther, The Queen’s Lion, and The Seymour Panther.

This coin is struck from 2 troy ounces of pure silver (Ag.9999) and has a diameter of 38.61 mm. The mintage of this product is unlimited. This exceptional piece was produced by The Royal Mint.

Obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the denomination, designed by Martin Jennings.

Reverse shows one of the Tudor Beasts – the white greyhound – along with the inscription "THE GREYHOUND OF RICHMOND". The reverse was designed by David Lawrence.
