Silver Coin Triple Maple 1 oz Silver 2026 Matte Proof
The 2026 Triple Maple Silver Coin 1 oz Silver Proof is the latest edition of the acclaimed Triple Maple series issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. The 2026 release has been enhanced with a new decorative element in the form of black rhodium, creating a striking background for one of Canada’s most recognizable symbols – the maple leaf.
The reverse design was created by longtime Chief Engraver of the Royal Canadian Mint, Stan Witten, the designer of the famous 2007 Million Dollar Coin. The composition featuring three maple leaves was first arranged using natural specimens, then photographed, sketched, and ultimately transformed into a relief design. Thanks to the use of black rhodium plating, the leaves stand out clearly against the dark background, further emphasizing the depth of the design and the craftsmanship of its execution.
The coin was struck from 1 ounce of .9999 fine silver and finished to a Matte Proof standard. It has a diameter of 38 mm and a face value of 20 Canadian dollars. The mintage has been limited to 7,000 pieces worldwide, making it an attractive option for collectors of Canadian coins and enthusiasts of maple leaf-themed designs.
Obverse features the effigy of King Charles III by Steven Rosati, along with the issuing country, face value, and year of issue.
Reverse, designed by Stan Witten, depicts a composition of three maple leaves sculpted in high relief. The motif is set against a black rhodium-plated background, creating a bold contrast and highlighting the details of the design. The overall result is a striking combination of a classic Canadian symbol with modern minting techniques.
