Silver Coin Ragnarök: Jörmungandr Black Silver 1 oz Silver 2026

Ragnarök Jörmungandr 2026 – 1 oz Black Silver BU silver coin

Jörmungandr, the immense serpent said to encircle Midgard, takes centre stage in this Germania Mint Ragnarök release. In Norse mythology the child of Loki and Angrboða rises from the depths to fight Thor at the end of the world. Struck in 2026, the coin contains one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver. Its Black Silver BU finish gives the image a dark, dramatic setting.

Obverse: the Midgard Serpent

The obverse shows Jörmungandr just before the decisive encounter with the god of thunder. Its scale recalls the myth of a creature large enough to surround the world. The separate Thor coin complements this perspective and allows collectors to follow both participants in the series' third chapter.

Reverse, mintage and presentation

A serpent biting its own tail appears on the reverse alongside Germania Mint's double-headed eagle. Kinga Sabatowicz designed the 38.61 mm coin, which bears a 5 mark denomination. Mintage is limited to 5,000 pieces. A lens capsule and a Certificate of Authenticity accompany each example.
