Perth Mint Silver Coin: 2026 Colorized Koala 1 oz Silver (Brisbane Money Expo ANDA Special) is a limited issue prepared by The Perth Mint to mark the Brisbane Money Expo 2026 numismatic fair, held on July 11–12, 2026. The coin features one of the most recognizable representatives of Australian fauna – the koala.

For years, the koala has remained a symbol of Australia and one of the most frequently depicted animals on coins issued by the Perth Mint. This marsupial, inhabiting eucalyptus forests, is valued for its distinctive appearance and calm lifestyle, which has made it one of the most recognizable species associated with the Australian continent.

The coin was struck from 1 ounce of pure Ag 9999 silver. Its diameter is 40.90 mm, its weight is 31.107 g, and its face value is 1 Australian dollar. The mintage has been limited to just 2,500 pieces, highlighting its collectible character.

Obverse features the effigy of King Charles III by Dan Thorne, along with the coin’s face value.

Reverse, designed by Ing Ing Jong, depicts a colorized koala sitting in the fork of a tree trunk and holding a eucalyptus branch. In the background, there is a striking sunset and a eucalyptus forest. The design is completed by the inscription “KOALA,” The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark, as well as information on the coin’s weight, silver purity, and the year of issue, 2026.
