Władysław Zawadzki (1885–1939) was an economist, academic lecturer, and politician, serving as Minister of the Treasury from 1932 to 1935. His activity fell in the difficult period of the Great Depression, during which he advocated currency stability and budgetary balance. He was one of the pioneers in applying mathematical methods in economics and a proponent of general equilibrium theory.

The coin was struck by the National Bank of Poland in 2022 in Proof quality, from high-quality silver of fineness Ag.925. It weighs 14.14 g and measures 32 mm in diameter. The face value of the coin is 10 zloty, confirming its status as legal tender in Poland.
