Silver Coin Germania Mint: Bödvar Saga - Loss 1 oz Silver 2026
Germania Mint Silver Coin: Bödvar 1 oz Silver 2026 is the first release in the new Bödvar Saga series, presenting the epic story of a Norse warrior whose fate is marked by tragedy and an unrelenting pursuit of justice. The coin’s design blends storytelling, symbolism, and the high standard of craftsmanship characteristic of Germania Mint issues.
The coin is struck from Ag.9999 silver, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 38.61 mm in diameter. Finished to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, it combines both collectible and investment appeal. The issue has a limited mintage of 10,000 pieces.
The obverse depicts the dramatic moment that changed Bödvar’s life. The warrior, bound in chains, stands powerless before his assailant, while his wife Astrid dies on her knees amid the flames consuming the village. In this poignant scene, the hero learns of the abduction of his daughter, Sunneva. The composition conveys pain, helplessness, and a burgeoning determination that sets Bödvar on a path of vengeance and the pursuit of justice.
The reverse presents the sacred mountain Thorbjørn, rendered as a monumental stone bear—a symbol of strength and divine might. The Sowilo rune appears on its forehead, and waterfalls pour from its mouth to feed the rivers at its base. The composition is encircled by a magical runic ring, and among the bear’s teeth a Germanic shield with a double-headed eagle is set. Bödvar’s chains coil around the scene, symbolically binding his fate to the mythical mountain.
Designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak, the piece stands out for its attention to detail and narrative character, creating a cohesive story of strength, loss, and destiny. The coin is housed in a lens capsule and includes a certificate of authenticity, underscoring its collectible nature.
