Silver Coin Cook Islands: Ville de Nuit – Paris gilded 3 oz Silver 2026 Black Proof
Cook Islands Silver Coin: Ville de Nuit – Paris 3 oz Silver 2026 Black Proof is a spectacular interpretation of Paris’s nightscape captured from a bird’s-eye view. The design is inspired by one of the world’s most recognizable roundabouts—Place Charles de Gaulle with the Arc de Triomphe at its center. The dynamic layout of twelve avenues converging at a single point creates a composition full of motion, light, and urban energy.
The coin is struck from 3 ounces of .9999 fine silver, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in Black Proof finish. The use of smartminting® technology enabled a deep relief and the combination of a black field with partial gilding and selective coloration. The gilded, illuminated avenues contrast with the realistically rendered cityscape, creating the illusion of a pulsating, night-time metropolis.
The streets radiate like fiery veins, drawing the eye toward the central point—the monumental Arc de Triomphe. Each of the twelve avenues is individually labeled, and the names of all 20 Paris arrondissements are placed on the edge as micro-engraving. The interplay of light and darkness builds the atmosphere of night-time Paris, where architecture meets the movement and glow of the metropolis.
The 2026 issue carries a face value of 20 dollars and is limited to 500 pieces worldwide, underscoring its collectible character.
Obverse features the effigy of King Charles III along with the country of issue, Cook Islands, and the face value.
