Silver Coin Canada: Clan Animals - Bear Coloured $15 2026 Proof is the second issue in the Clan Animals series prepared by the Royal Canadian Mint. The coin is struck from 3/4 oz of fine Ag 9999 silver and pays tribute to the bear – one of the most important clan animals in Anishinabek tradition.

In Anishinabek culture, the bear, known as Mukwa, symbolizes care, protection, balance, and wisdom. It is regarded as a guardian and guide who watches over the well-being of the community and helps maintain harmony between people and the natural world. Its strength is seen not only as physical power, but also as the ability to offer help, healing, and restore balance.

The coin was struck in proof quality from 3/4 oz of fine Ag 9999 silver. The issue has a face value of 15 Canadian dollars and is limited to a mintage of 10,000 pieces. The design was created by Mark Nadjiwan, an artist from the Neyaashiinigmiing Unceded First Nation community in Ontario.

Obverse depicts the effigy of King Charles III along with information about the issuer, face value, and year of issue.

Reverse features a coloured image of the bear Mukwa presented in a distinctive contemporary style inspired by the art of Canada’s Indigenous peoples. The composition is complemented by elements of nature, including a red sun, blue water, and muted earth tones, emphasizing the bear’s spiritual connection with the surrounding world.
