The coin is minted in pure Ag.999 sterling silver, weighing three troy ounces, 60mm in diameter, in antique finish standard. The Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt is responsible for issuing the entire Nautical Ounce collection, and it is worth mentioning that the whole coin is guaranteed by the government of Rwanda and each coin is official tender in the issuing country.
On the obverse is the official seal of Rwanda and the coin's face value.
Rewers of the coin depict the Great Eastern ship. It is completed with the inscription "NAUTICAL OUNCE", "GREAT EASTERN" and information on the year of mintage, weight and bullion proof.
