The mint was founded on June 20, 1899, during the heyday of the gold boom in Western Australia. A minted copy made of pure silver, sample Ag.9999 weight of 2 troy ounces, in standard proof. The coin is gold plated with yellow gold. What's more, it has the added security of an engraved "P" on the reverse side.
On the obverse depicts King Charles III of Great Britain, designed by Dan Thorne. You can also find the face value of the stock and the country of the issuer on it.
Reverse shows a kangaroo, koala and kookaburra, among acacias, Australia's national floral emblem. The coin bears the inscription "1899 THE PERTH MINT 2024'" as well as information about the weight, year of issue and bullion purity. The designer of the reverse was Jennifer McKenna.
