Noah's Ark 1 oz Silver 2013
The Noah's Ark silver coin is a popular investment product, minted in a weight of one ounce and a bullion purity of 999. This interesting currency is issued by the Central Bank of Armenia. However, the production process itself takes place at a private German mint - Leipziger Edelmetall Verarbeitung. Coins with the image of the Ark are guaranteed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia as to their legality, purity of the sample and origin of the bullion, and are full legal tender in the country. It is worth mentioning that in addition to its investment potential, the coin also has a historical character. According to the Christian Old Testament, Noah's Ark was built by God's command to shelter Noah's family and animals from the Great Flood. During the journey through the eternal waters, the peak of Mount Ararat appeared to Noah. Having reached it, the Ark completed its journey, beginning a new era. The obverse of the coin, designed by Eduard Kurghinyan, depicts the Ark on a rough sea, with Mount Ararat in the background and the rising sun. The mountain is named after Ara, a Bronze Age idol. Ara was the god of death and rebirth. In the centre of the coin is a dove in flight over the waters of the Flood, holding an olive branch in its beak. The edge bears the inscription 'Noah's ark', in English. The reverse of the coin depicts the Armenian Coat of Arms with the minted denomination of 500 drams and the year of issue. On the right-hand side, below the coat of arms, the weight and the silver sample in which the coin was struck are shown. At the bottom edge is the inscription "Republic of Armenia". Producer
