The coin was struck in Ag.999 sterling silver, weighing 2 troy ounces and measuring 45mm in diameter. The coin is gold plated in rose and yellow gold. The coin is limited to an issue of 500 pieces and comes with a guarantee from the Government of Niue as to the purity of the bullion, legality and origin of the metal. The obverse of the silver coin depicts the coat of arms of Niue and the royal throne of France with the crown of Louis XIII, a kneeling musketeer and information on the face value, date of issue, weight and purity of the bullion.
The reverse of the coin features D'Artagnan's musketeer. The reverse also bears the inscription 'THE THREE MUSKETEERS', 'D'ARTAGAN'.
