Niue: Human Body - Kidneys Coloured 1 oz Silver 2025 Proof
Human Body: Kidneys colored 1 ounce Silver 2025 Proof is the fifth silver coin from the Czech Mint's series "Human Body," dedicated to the urinary system, specifically the kidneys. The urinary and reproductive systems are closely linked developmentally, but their functions differ significantly. The reproductive system is responsible for reproduction, i.e., transferring genetic information from parents to offspring, while the urinary system removes waste products produced during the conversion of substances into nutrients. The kidneys maintain the stability of the internal environment and remove harmful substances excreted as urine. Approximately 1 liter of blood flows through them every minute, and an adult human filters up to 2,000 liters daily. The daily urine volume is approximately 1.5 liters.
The reverse side of the coin, designed by medalist Jan Štekl, DiS., features a colored pair of human kidneys, one of which is cut open to reveal its internal structure. The composition is complemented by the Latin inscription RENES (kidneys). The obverse, common to the entire series, features a colored DNA double helix. Since the Czech Mint's coins are issued under a foreign licence from the island of Niue, the obverse also bears the island's national emblem, the nominal value of 1 DOLLAR (NZD), and the year of issue 2025.
Obverse depicts a colored DNA double helix together with the Niue island emblem, nominal value, and year of issue.
Reverse shows a colored pair of human kidneys, one cut open, with the Latin inscription RENES.
