Limited Edition New Zealand Five-Coin Proof Set 2023
The coins are minted from copper-nickel alloy and brass, to proof standard. The coins have denominations - 2 Dollar, 1 Dollar, 50 Cent, 20 Cent, 10 Cent. In order of highest face value, the products have weights and diameters: 11.25g and 26.50mm,8.60g and 23.00mm, 5.60g and 24.74mm, 4.45g and 21.75mm, 3.70g and 20.50mm.
The Royal Dutch Mint is responsible for the limited issue of the set to 250 pieces. The product is minted on behalf of New Zealand Post. The coin is supplied in its original packaging. The Overses will show a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and information about the issuing country, weight, purity of bullion and year of mintage. The obverses were designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The reverses carry the denomination information. The coins depict successively: a white heron -The kōtuku, a kiwi, a ship - HMS Endeavour, a sculpture depicting the 18th century Maori leader called "Pūkākī", a carved Maori mask or "kōruru" with Maori rafter patterns.
