The coin is struck from 1 oz of 999.9 fine silver for the Republic of Liberia as legal tender with a face value of 20 dollars. The Oblivion version is distinguished by an antiqued finish, black colour accents reacting to light (Black Light Colors), and individual numbering of each piece, giving the coin a clearly collectible and exclusive character.
The mintage of this edition is strictly limited to 999 pieces, making it significantly rarer than the standard version. The aged surface and contrasting dark details enhance the impression of an artefact recovered from the forgotten world of the Ice Age. The Oblivion variant is produced using a special Antique Finish and Black Light Colors, which means its appearance may change depending on the type and angle of lighting. Under neutral light, the coin appears as classic aged silver, while under different lighting conditions subtle colour accents become visible, as shown in the manufacturer’s images. This is the same coin – an intentional effect resulting from the applied finishing technology.
The obverse depicts the cave lion in its primal environment, captured in the moment just before the attack. The antiqued finish and dark colour palette intensify the drama of the scene, highlighting the strength, instinct and ruthlessness of the ancient predator.
The reverse shows the characteristic Megafauna series motif: the skull of a cave lion and its paw print, surrounded by tracks of other species to appear in future issues.
