The coin is legal tender in the issuer's country and is guaranteed by the Australian government.The obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The whole is surrounded by the inscription "ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA" and information on the date of issue, weight, minting proof and face value of the coin. The designer of the obverse was Jody Clark.
