Modern security features of the Platinum Britannia include:
• A radiant background created using a picosecond laser – visible when rotating the coin, creating a dynamic impression of movement.
• An angle-sensitive engraving – the image changes from a padlock to a trident depending on the viewing angle.
• Use of tincture technique on Britannia’s shield – heraldic colors represented by graphic line patterns.
• Micro-engraved inscription “DECUS ET TUTAMEN” – made with precision lasers, placed above Britannia’s head.
Obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, designed by Martin Jennings. It also includes the face value – £10.
Reverse designed by Philip Nathan shows the classic figure of Britannia holding a trident and shield. It also includes information on the platinum purity and new security features confirming the coin's authenticity.
