The 500-zloty banknote is an advanced means of payment equipped with numerous technological security features. Its dimensions are 150 × 75 mm, and the design refers to King John III Sobieski, symbolizing stability and strength.
On the obverse of the 500-zloty banknote is a portrait of King John III Sobieski, one of Poland’s most prominent rulers. Security features include: a watermark with the king’s portrait and denomination, a security thread visible in the light, a tilt effect where the number “500” changes color depending on the viewing angle, optically variable ink (the hussar helmet shifts from green to blue), and tactile elements such as the king’s portrait, the Polish coat of arms, and markings for the visually impaired.
On the reverse is an illustration of a hussar helmet symbolizing Polish military power during Sobieski’s era.
