"Franz Joseph I (German: Franz Joseph I, Hungarian: I. Ferenc József ), born on 18 August 1830 at Schönbrunn Palace near Vienna, died on 21 November 1916. Representative of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, from 1848 Emperor of Austria and Apostolic King of Hungary. He was crowned in 1867. The obverse of the coin is decorated with an image of the Austrian coat of arms, an eagle with two heads and tails. Below this is the year the coin was minted.
