As with previous coins in the series, this one has been created by the renowned mint, The Perth Mint, and Monique Reeves is responsible for the reverse design this year. The gold coin, Australian Emu 2021, has been made from the highest quality 999.9 bullion, weighing one troy ounce. It was minted in a limited mintage of only 5,000 pieces. The coin is guaranteed by the Australian Government and is full legal tender in the issuing country. What's more,the 2021 Australian Emu gold coins are supplied in their original, dedicated caps. The Overt of the Australian Emu features an image of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark. The edge of the coin features the inscription: "Elizabeth II Australia" and the face value of the coin.

Rewers depicts a female emu accompanied by a baby emu, resting at a watering hole against the backdrop of Australia's characteristic wilderness. The whole is surrounded by the inscription 'Australian Emu' and the date of issue, weight and mintage of the gold coin.
