Aluminium Bronze Coin Dawn Service Colored $2 2026 'C' Mintmark

The 2026 $2 Colourised Dawn Service Coin “C” Mintmark is a commemorative issue from The Royal Australian Mint, honouring the tradition of Anzac Day ceremonies. Dawn services, held for more than a century, are an important part of Australia’s culture of remembrance, bringing together thousands of participants in a spirit of reflection and respect.

The coin was struck in an aluminium-bronze alloy, with a weight of 6.60 g and a diameter of 20.5 mm. It is offered in Uncirculated condition and features selective colourisation. The issue has a limited mintage of 100,000 pieces and bears the “C” mintmark, indicating Canberra as the place of production.

The specimen is supplied in a capsule and presentation card, providing protection and emphasising the collectible nature of the product. The design refers to the dawn service ceremony, including, among other elements, the laying of wreaths, the sounding of military calls, and a moment of silence in honour of the fallen.

Obverse depicts the effigy of King Charles III by Daniel Thorne, together with the denomination and the name of the issuing country, maintaining the classic style of Australian coinage.

Reverse shows a sunrise scene over the ocean during a dawn service ceremony. The applied colourisation highlights the contrast between the light and the background, while the “C” mintmark indicates the place where the coin was struck.
