A gold coin minted by the Austrian mint to celebrate the millennium of the Babenberg dynasty. The Babenbergs a dynasty originating in Austria. Reigning in Austria, first as margraves and from 1156 with the title of duke. They also ruled temporarily in Bavaria from 1139 -1156 (with interruptions). The coin was struck in gold sample .900 and with a weight of 13.50 grams. The obverse depicts the Austrian imperial eagle. Below this is the denomination of the coin. The reverse shows Prince Friedrich II on horseback. The illustration is surrounded by the inscription "einsetzung der Babenberger" and the dates 976-1976.Do you need help?
