Malta: Knights of the Past Gold-Plated 2 oz Silver 2023 High Relief Antiqued Coin is the third coin that refers to the tradition of the Order of Malta and the most famous siege of Malta by the Ottoman Empire in 1565. The event is considered a turning point in the history of this country and Europe. The silver coin is minted from pure Ag.9999 metal, weighs 2 troy ounces, has a diameter of 45 mm, and is in high relief and antiqued. The coin is additionally gilded with yellow gold. The mintage of the product is 999 pieces. The coin was produced by Germania Mint, commissioned by the Central Bank of Malta. Each coin comes in individual, original packaging with a certificate of authenticity. The obverse features a gold-plated Maltese Knight on horseback, the watchtower in Valletta, and Fort Saint Angelo in Birgu. The obverse also bears the inscription “KNIGHTS OF THE PAST” and the denomination of the coin. The reverse of the silver coin features the coat of arms of the Central Bank of Malta.
