Les bêtes royales Tudor : Le lévrier de Richmond 5 £ en cuivre-nickel 2025
The Royal Tudor Beasts: The Greyhound of Richmond £5 Copper-Nickel 2025 is the eighth installment in The Royal Tudor Beasts series. The coin depicts the rich heraldry of the Tudor dynasty, referring to emblems visible throughout Great Britain, as well as to the sculptures that adorn the entrance to Hampton Court Palace. Henry VIII used coats of arms as a powerful tool of visual communication, emphasizing his royal heritage and unquestionable rights to the throne. The White Greyhound of Richmond symbolizes Henry VIII's connection to his ancestors, including Edward III and the House of Lancaster. This animal became a symbol of royal descent thanks to Henry VIII's grandfather, Edmund Tudor, Earl of Richmond, who used the white greyhound as his heraldic supporter. The coin is minted from a copper-nickel alloy, weighs 28.28 grams, and has a diameter of 38.61 mm. The coin has no mintage limit, making it available to collectors worldwide. This remarkable coin was produced by the renowned Royal Mint and is guaranteed by the UK government as to its legality, purity, and origin of the metal. The coin is legal tender in the country of issue. The obverse features the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain, the denomination, and the year, designed by Martin Jennings.
