Canada: National Indigenous Peoples Day 2023 is a commemorative coin celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. The celebration aims to recognize and honor the cultures of the Indians, Eskimos, and Métis. The coin was designed by three individual artists: Megan Currie, Myrna Pokiak, and Jennine Krauchi. The coin is minted from nickel steel and aluminum bronze, weighs 6.99 grams, and has a diameter of 28 mm. This unique coin was produced by The Royal Canadian Mint. The coin is guaranteed by the Canadian government as to its legality, purity, and origin of the metal, and is legal tender throughout the country of issue. The mint roll contains 25 coins. The obverse features an image of Queen Elizabeth II and the date of issue, designed by Susanna Blunt. The reverse features impressive designs and symbols taken from the culture and heritage of the indigenous peoples of Canada, as well as the face value and country of issue.
