The Big Five II: Buffalo 1 oz Silver 2023 coin is the fifth installment of the second series - Big Five II. The first series was very popular with collectors and buyers. The limited edition African Big Five series features animals - the elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, and buffalo. The coin depicts a buffalo. These animals are mainly herbivores. The silver bullion coin is minted from pure Ag.999 silver, weighs 1 troy ounce and has a diameter of 38.73 mm. This unique coin was produced by the renowned South Africa Mint and is legal tender in the country of issue. The entire series is guaranteed by the South African government in terms of legality, purity, and origin of the metal. The silver buffalo has a mintage of only 20,000 pieces. Individual coins are delivered in a representative package, which provides additional information about both the coin and the animal itself. The obverse shows the head of a buffalo and the inscriptions “SOUTH AFRICA,” “BIG FIVE 2023,” and the coat of arms of South Africa. The reverse shows two halves of a buffalo's head. The reverse also features the inscription “FIVE RAND” and information about the weight and purity of the metal.
