First introduced in 1526 during the reign of Henry VIII, the crown became one of the most recognizable coins in the history of Great Britain.

The coin was struck in .925 fine silver in the prestigious Proof Piedfort version, distinguished by its double thickness compared to the standard issue. The piece weighs 56.56 g, has a diameter of 38.61 mm, and a face value of £5. The 2026 issue is limited to just 1,500 pieces, highlighting its collector value.
