Washington Quarter Silver 1932-1964 Coin
The Washington Quarter, is an American coin with a denomination of 25 cents. It was introduced into circulation in 1932 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of George Washington, the first President of the United States. Each coin is struck from pure silver with a fineness of Ag.900 and weighs 6.25 grams.
Obverse depicts the image of George Washington, the date of issue, the inscription "LIBERTY," and the motto, which was included in the Declaration of Independence - "In God We Trust."
Reverse is adorned by an eagle, the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and "PEACE." The reverse includes the denomination and the motto "E pluribus unum" (Latin for "Out of many, one").
