Each piece, featuring the botanical symbol of Canada, is struck from pure Ag.9999 sterling silver, weighing one troy ounce and measuring 38 mm in diameter. The product is delivered in its original packaging. In addition, each silver leaf is guaranteed by the Government of Canada and is full legal tender in the issuing country. Walter Otto is responsible for the design of the silver coin, which has remained unchanged over the years.
Silver coins have been part of the Bullion DNA Anti-Counterfeiting Technology programme since 2015, which makes it easier to verify the coins' authenticity. What's more, since 2018, the pieces have had MINTSHIELD™ surface protection, the world's first proven approach to reducing the occurrence of white stains.This programme provides security, and is a guarantee of the originality of all coins in the collection.
The obverse features the likeness of King Charles III, the denomination and the date of issue. Since 2015, additional security is provided by the radial lines in the background of the coin.
On the reverse of the coin is depicted the maple leaf, which is the national symbol of Canada, the special mark - "Congratulations", as well as the minting sample and the name of the country in which the coin is produced. The coin's design was created by Walter Otto.
