Beasts of the Queen: The Queen's Beasts 2018: The Unicorn of Scotland 2 Silver Unions 2018 The British silver coin, The Unicorn of Scotland, is the fourth in the Queen's Beasts series issued by The Royal Mint.The obverse shows a mythical unicorn depicted wearing a crown and chains, symbolising the power of the Scottish rulers who are believed to have been able to tame the mythical unicorn. The reverse depicts the image of the British Queen, Elizabeth II, and above her head is engraved the royal title in Latin, Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defens, which originally reads The grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith.The silver Unicorn of Scotland coin, like the others in the Queen's Beast series, was designed by Jody Clark.
