The Royal Tudor Beasts: The Greyhound of Richmond 2 oz Silver 2025 Proof
The Royal Tudor Beasts: The Greyhound of Richmond 2 oz Silver 2025 Proof is the eighth release in the series The Royal Tudor Beasts. The coin showcases the rich heraldry of the Tudor dynasty, referencing emblems visible throughout Great Britain, as well as sculptures that adorn the entrance to Hampton Court Palace. Henry VIII used coats of arms as a powerful tool of visual communication, emphasizing his royal heritage and unquestionable rights to the throne.
The White Greyhound of Richmond symbolizes Henry VIII's connection with his ancestors, including Edward III and the House of Lancaster. This animal became a symbol of royal lineage thanks to Henry VIII's grandfather, Edmund Tudor, Earl of Richmond, who used the white greyhound as his heraldic supporter.
The entire series will consist of 10 coins depicting animal likenesses: Seymour Panther, The Lion of England, The Bull of Clarence, The Tudor Dragon, The Greyhound of Richmond, The Royal Dragon, The Yale of Beaufort, The Seymour Unicorn, The Queen’s Panther, and The Queen’s Lion.
The coin is struck from pure silver of Ag.999 fineness, weighing 2 troy ounces, with a diameter of 40 mm, in proof standard. The mintage is limited to 450 pieces. Moreover, this exceptional piece was produced by The Royal Mint. Each piece comes with certified individual packaging.
