The Queen’s Beasts: The Unicorn of Scotland 1/4 oz Gold 2018
The Unicorn of Scotland gold coin, is the fourth in the Beasts of the Queen series of coins issued by The Royal Mint in the UK. On the obverse of the coin, a mythical unicorn can be seen depicted wearing a crown and chains. This was meant to symbolise the power of the Scottish rulers, who supposedly could tame the mythical unicorn. The reverse shows the image of the British Queen, Elizabeth II, above whom is engraved the royal title in Latin, Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defens, which in the original reads The grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith. The Unicorn of Scotland gold coin, like the others in the Queen's Beast series, was designed by Jody Clark. Do you need help?
