The Gold of China 100 Euro Gold 2024 Proof coin is the sixth item from the series The Magic of Gold, with a denomination of 100 Euro. The entire series will consist of six coins.

The coin celebrates the extraordinary significance of gold in Chinese culture and history, as well as the power and wealth that gold symbolized in ancient China, representing both material and spiritual prosperity.

This specimen comes from the renowned Austrian Mint. The 2024 gold coin does not have a stamped weight or metal fineness.

Obverse of the coin depicts a dragon piercing through the clouds, symbolizing the emperor, who was considered the son of heaven. In the foreground, there is a figure of the emperor, and in the lower right corner, there is a Chinese character representing gold, opposite which is a peony symbolizing nobility.

Reverse of the coin is inspired by a gilded medallion featuring the imperial dragon in the clouds from the Qianlong era (1736-1795), which is part of the collection at the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna. This coin not only delights with its beauty but also evokes the rich history and cultural heritage of China, where gold has played a key role for centuries.
