The St Helena Una & Redcrosse 1 oz Gold 2022 Proof coin is the first piece in The Faerie Queene's new series. The coin refers to the work, Edmund Spenser's first book, which tells the story of the knight Redcrosse concerning the rescue of Una's parents from the captivity of an evil dragon. The knight accomplished this action through the request of the Faerie Queen. The entire series will focus on different stories of knights, princesses, as well as mythical beasts, magical villains, honour, betrayal, love and loss.

The gold coin was struck in pure Au.9999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 32mm in diameter, in proof standard. The mintage of the coin is only 100 pieces. The product comes in original, certified packaging.

The obverse of the gold coin is decorated with an image of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ST. HELENA" and "ELIZABETH II". The obverse also shows the year of mintage and the face value of the coin. The designer of the obverse was Jody Clark.

Rewers of the coin depict an image of the seized Una and Redcrosse on horseback. In the background is a castle and a flying dragon. The reverse also bears the inscription 'THE FAERIE QUEENE'. The designer of the reverse was Joel Iskowitz.
