St Helena: The Faerie Queene - Redcrosse & The Dragon 1 oz Gold 2024 Proof is the third release in The Faerie Queene series. The value refers to the work, the first book by Edmund Spenser, which tells the story of the knight Redcrosse concerning the rescue of Una's parents from the captivity of an evil dragon. The knight accomplished this action through the request of the Faerie Queen. The entire series will focus on various stories of knights, princesses, as well as mythical beasts, magical villains, honour, betrayal, love and loss.

The product has been made of pure Au.9999 gold, weighing one troy ounce in diameter measuring 32mm, in proof standard. The respected precious metals producer The East India Company is responsible for its issuance and is full legal tender on the island of Saint Helena.

The obverse of the coin is decorated with the image of King Charles III of Great Britain and the inscriptions "ST. HELENA' and 'CHARLES III'. The obverse also shows the year of mintage and the face value of the coin. The obverse design by Glyn Davies Rewers of the coin depicts the battle between the Knight 'Redcrosse' and the Dragon and the inscription 'THE FAERIE QUEENE'.
