The Ulysses butterfly, also known as the blue emperor, is found in the tropical regions of Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Solomon Islands. This species is renowned for its intensely blue wings with an iridescent sheen, which create an exceptionally striking visual contrast in flight with the darker underside of the wings. The Ulysses butterfly is often regarded as a symbol of transformation, the beauty of nature, and the vitality of tropical ecosystems.

The coin was struck from 2 ounces of Ag 9999 silver. Its diameter is 40.69 mm, its weight is 62.213 g, and its face value is 2 Australian dollars. The mintage is limited to just 2,000 pieces worldwide, further enhancing its collector appeal.
