Born on 21 April 1926, the monarch reigned for 70 years, becoming the longest-reigning ruler in the history of the United Kingdom and one of the most recognizable figures of the modern world.

The coin is struck in Ag .9999 silver with a weight of 1 troy ounce (31.107 g) and a diameter of 40.9 mm. It has a face value of 1 Australian dollar and is finished to Proof standard, distinguished by mirror-like fields and frosted relief. The maximum mintage is 7,000 coins, while the sales limit is set at 5,000 pieces.

The background is adorned with a motif of the Australian acacia (golden wattle)—the national flower of Australia. The design is complemented by symbols of the royal regalia: St Edward's Crown, the Sovereign's Orb, the Tudor Rose, and the Scepter. The composition is completed by the inscription "H.M.
