Silver Coin Numismatic Icons - Krios 1 oz Silver 2026 High Relief Antiqued
The Numismatic Icons – Krios 1 oz Silver Coin 2026 High Relief Antiqued is the seventh and final issue in the acclaimed series inspired by the most important motifs of ancient numismatics. The design draws on ancient Greece and the symbolism associated with the Oracle of Delphi – one of the most important sites of religious worship in the Greek world.
The coin was struck from .9999 fine silver, with a weight of 1 troy ounce (31.1 g) and a diameter of approximately 33 mm. The issue features an Antique Finish and a striking ultra high relief, emphasizing the depth and detail of the design. The coin has a face value of 5 dollars issued by the Cook Islands and a limited mintage of only 999 pieces.
The main theme of the issue is the head of a ram – a symbol of strength, fertility, protection, and sacrifice in the culture of ancient Greece. Rams frequently appeared in religious rituals and were offered as sacrifices to the most important deities. This image also appeared on rhytons – ceremonial drinking vessels often crafted in the form of animal heads.
Obverse depicts the effigy of King Charles III, along with the name of the issuing authority – the Cook Islands – and the coin’s face value, maintaining the style of modern collector issues.
Reverse features a monumental ram’s head in ultra high relief. The antique finish highlights the design’s inspiration from antiquity and gives the coin the appearance of an ancient artifact.
