Nature's Delight: The Spider Gilded 1 oz Silver Coin 2026 Reverse Proof

Nature's Delight: The Spider Gilded 1 oz Silver Coin 2026 Reverse Proof is the second release in the Nature’s Delight series from the Royal Canadian Mint. Following the 2025 Honey Bee issue, the collection turns its attention to the spider – a precise web builder and an important guardian of the natural balance within ecosystems.

Nature captured in silver and gold

The coin is struck from 1 oz of .9999 fine silver, with a weight of 32 g and a diameter of 42 mm. Its distinctive hexagonal shape refers to one of the most efficient geometric forms found in nature. The Reverse Proof finish combines a frosted background with a brilliant relief, while selective yellow gold gilding highlights the main motif. The mintage is limited to just 7,500 pieces worldwide.

The spider as artist and guardian

The star of this issue is Argiope trifasciata, whose natural light yellow coloration is emphasized by the gilding. The intricate web adorned with dewdrops evokes geometric ornamentation, showcasing the precision and harmony of the natural world.

Obverse and reverse

Obverse features the portrait of King Charles III by Steven Rosati, along with the markings characteristic of Canadian collector coins.

Reverse, designed by June Steube, depicts a gilded Argiope trifasciata spider resting on a silvery web covered with dewdrops. The precise relief of the web creates a striking geometric composition inspired by the beauty of nature.
