Silver Coin Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King 10 EUR 2026 Proof
The Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King 10 Euro 2026 Proof Silver Coin is a collector’s issue prepared by Monnaie de Paris to mark the 25th anniversary of Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. The coin refers to the final installment of The Lord of the Rings saga, depicting the climactic moment of Frodo’s journey and the struggle for the fate of Middle-earth.
The piece was struck from fine .999 silver, with a weight of 22.2 g and a diameter of 37 mm. The coin features the highest Proof quality, a face value of 10 euro, and a limited mintage of 5,000 pieces. The design was developed based on official visual materials from the film The Return of the King.
The composition captures the dramatic finale of the story, in which Frodo reaches Mount Doom while increasingly feeling the influence of the One Ring. This motif symbolizes sacrifice, the struggle against one’s own weaknesses, and the ultimate confrontation between good and evil.
Obverse: depicts Frodo, exhausted by the long journey and overwhelmed by the power of the Ring. In the background, Mount Doom can be seen, along with the Eye of Sauron set upon the tower of Barad-dûr, constantly watching the heroes and emphasizing the atmosphere of danger.
Reverse: shows the One Ring towering above the Eye of Sauron. The use of selective gilding highlights the Ring and the Elvish inscription visible in the flames of Mount Doom. The reverse also features the face value, the Monnaie de Paris symbols, the letters “RF,” and the year of issue.
