Historic silver coin of Iran
The coin has a face value of 2000 dinars and was struck in .900 fine silver. Its total weight is 9.21 g, which corresponds to approximately 8.29 g of pure silver. The coin has a diameter of 28 mm and a thickness of 2 mm. It is round in shape, with a reeded edge, and the obverse is rotated 180° in relation to the reverse. The offered specimens come from various years within the 1913–1926 range.
The coin was issued during the Qajar dynasty, under the reign of Ahmad Shah Qajar, the last shah of this dynasty. Thanks to its combination of historical character, silver content, and Oriental symbolism, it is an appealing piece for world coin collectors.
